Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems, production equipment, and automated machinery in a manufacturing environment. This position ensures the safe and reliable operation of electrical and control systems to maximize equipment uptime, product quality, and production efficiency while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and electrical codes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, PLC, motor control, and automation system failures.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, panels, transformers, motors, drives, sensors, and control devices.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo Systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controllers.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace faulty electrical components and equipment.
  • Support installation, start-up, and commissioning of new machinery and production systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems up to facility voltage requirements.
  • Conduct equipment testing using multimeters, meggers, infrared tools, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and productivity.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Technical degree, diploma, or certification in Industrial Electricity, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, motor controls, power distribution, and industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with robotics, automated material handling systems, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication systems.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • NFPA 70E training.
